Leading Lights

Run by Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC)

Newcomers to documentary get a subsidized pass to their first Australian International Documentary Conference, held in Sydney in March 2027. It suits early-career and under-represented nonfiction makers living in Australia. Industry donors pay for each place, and four people from the group pitch a project in development to a panel during the conference.

What it gives besides money

A workshop for the group on pitching, impact or development; a meet and greet with the broadcasters and companies that paid for the places; and, for four participants, the chance to present a project they are developing to a panel of industry buyers, who give feedback.
