Run by Österreichisches Filminstitut (Austrian Film Institute, ÖFI)
Writers living in Austria, or citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland, can ask the Austrian Film Institute for a non-repayable grant to write a cinema screenplay or a documentary concept. One author can receive up to EUR 12,000, a team up to EUR 15,000, and a second stage can follow.

- Who can apply
- Qualified writers with proven professional experience, applying as individuals. Austrian citizens or residents of Austria; nationals of EU and EEA states and Switzerland count as Austrian citizens. The project must be a cinema feature or documentary.
- Prizes
- Non-repayable grant of up to EUR 12,000 for a single author, or up to EUR 15,000 when co-writers or a script consultant are involved. A second stage for further drafts can be requested on the same terms. The grant is free of income tax for the recipient.

- Fiction: a synopsis of about one page plus a treatment of roughly 20 pages with one or two dialogue scenes, or a script; documentary: a detailed concept (a one or two page exposé is not enough)
