Raindance Script Competition

Run by Raindance Film Festival

London's Raindance festival judges unproduced scripts in four categories: feature, short, TV comedy and TV drama. Its finalists form a Discovery List that goes to development teams at production companies, and the festival's site lists the 2026 script jury by name. Category winners are announced at the June festival.

Also asked for
Enter through FilmFreeway. Standard screenplay layout in 12-point Courier. A script in another language must come with a full English translation, which is what gets judged. Every co-writer must be credited at entry, pilots go in without a series bible, and graphic material needs a content warning.

Need your pages in standard screenplay format first? The free screenplay formatter lays them out and saves a PDF.

What it gives besides money

The 16 to 20 finalists make up the Raindance Discovery List (4 or 5 features, 4 or 5 shorts, 8 to 10 TV scripts), which Raindance sends to production company development teams, and each finalist gets free festival accreditation. Written feedback is available only if bought at entry.
