For writer-directors at the idea or treatment stage, this nine-month lab develops a feature story in small peer groups led by script consultants. Modules run in Malta, Estonia, online and Turin between April and November 2027, in English. Script drafts are not accepted, since the call is for stories still being shaped.

- Who can apply
- Writer-directors, or a writer and director pair, from any country; the director needs at least one earlier directing credit. Projects must be at an early stage with no screenplay draft yet. A writer with no attached director cannot apply. One project per person per year.
- Prizes
- No prizes. Partner scholarships cover half the fee for one project each from Malta, Estonia and Switzerland; one Brazilian filmmaker gets the full fee and a flight; other half-fee grants exist for low-capacity countries and proven need.

What it gives besides money
Group script work with consultants across five modules (Malta, Tartu, two online, Turin), with lodging and most meals during residential weeks, and a presentation at the TFL Meeting Event in Turin in November 2027.
